November 2026 Meetup

Most of us use AI like a smart chat window. We ask a question, get an answer, and close the tab. Nothing gets saved, nothing keeps running, and next time we start over. Tim Gallagher will present a different perspective.

At our first meetup group founder Tim Gallagher will present on the following topic.

From Chatting to Building: Making AI Work That Lasts

Most of us use AI like a smart chat window. We ask a question, get an answer, and close the tab. Nothing gets saved, nothing keeps running, and next time we start over.

This session shows how to go further and use AI to build simple, lasting tools for your business. You don’t need a technical background.

What we’ll cover

  • Chat vs. durable tools: why a one-time AI answer isn’t the same as a tool you and your team can rely on
  • Starting from the spreadsheet: where everyday spreadsheets break down once a business depends on them
  • The building blocks, explained plainly: what databases, web apps, websites, and servers actually are, and how they work together
  • A live build: we’ll (try to) take an idea from the audience and use AI to turn it into a working tool in a few minutes
  • Staying safe: backups, access, protecting customer data, and knowing when to bring in a developer

Bring an idea: think of one spreadsheet or repetitive task in your work that you wish were a real tool. It might become the live demo.
