This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Everything on it, including fonts and images, is served from kawmeetup.com itself. The server keeps no log of who visits.

The contact form, and email to us

When you send the contact form, we receive your name, your email address and your message. Email you send tohello@kawmeetup.com is received the same way, with its subject. Either one is kept in the organizers' inbox at app.kawmeetup.com, and a copy is emailed to each organizer, so that one of us can reply.

To stop the form being flooded, we count messages from each internet address for a short time. The address itself is never stored: only a scrambled form of it that changes every day.

Members

Members join by invitation and sign in to app.kawmeetup.comwith an email address and a password. The password is stored only in a scrambled form that cannot be turned back into it. Your name, bio and photo are seen only by other signed-in members, and only after the organizers approve them; your email address is not shown to other members. A photo is re-saved when you upload it, which removes everything but the picture, including where it was taken.

Signing in sets one cookie on that site, which keeps you signed in. It is not used for anything else.

Email we send

We email you only about things you are part of: an invitation, a link to reset your password and a notice when it changes, and the organizers' decisions about your membership and profile. Organizers are also emailed when a message or a profile change is waiting for them. There is no newsletter or mailing list.

When an email we send does not arrive (it bounces, is marked as spam, or cannot be sent), Resend tells us. We keep the address, the email's subject and the reason given, so that the organizers can see it and fix the address.

Who else handles it

• Resend sends the email we send and receives email sent to us, so it handles the addresses and messages involved.
• DigitalOcean runs the server this website and the members' site are on, in the United States.

We do not sell or share anything about you with anyone else, and nothing is used for advertising.

How long we keep it

• Messages from the contact form or sent to us by email: 180 days, or sooner when you ask.
• The copy kept while an email is being sent: 14 days after it goes.
• A note that an email to you did not arrive: 180 days.
• A member's account and profile: until you ask us to delete it.
• Nightly backups of the members' site: 14 days, after which each is deleted.
